A high-altitude supersonic interceptor stands in a hangar. The Kh-47M2 Kinzhal missile is already attached to the hardpoint under the fuselage, the air intake covers have been removed and technicians are performing final procedures before launch.
The aircraft will soon be sent to attack an important military facility on the territory of Ukraine. After the MiG-31K takes off, an air raid alert will be declared throughout Ukraine. The Kinzhal’s flight range of 2,000 kilometers allows it to hit targets in any region, up to the western borders.
Unlike cruise missiles and long-range drones, the Kh-47M2 flies in a straight line, without being distracted by bypassing Ukrainian air defense positions. The anti-aircraft systems of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (and all others, for that matter) are not capable of intercepting the Kinzhal flying at a speed of Mach 10-12.
