This decision was made by the head of state after a visit to the “Development of Creative Economy in Russia” exhibition, which took place on May 30.

“The Government of the Russian Federation, together with the executive authorities of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), to ensure the construction of a full-cycle multifunctional cinema pavilion in the urban district of the city of Yakutsk,” the document reads.

When working on the issue, the Cabinet of Ministers and the authorities of the republic should consider the possibility of using the Far Eastern Concession mechanism (through which investors are attracted to create infrastructure in the Far Eastern Federal District). The President must be informed about the execution of the order before December 30, 2023, and once every six months thereafter.

Earlier, at the St. Petersburg Forum, it was said that the multifunctional cinema pavilion was planned to be built in Yakutsk in 2026. It will be the only full-cycle cinema technology center in the Far East. The pavilion will have areas for filming, a recording studio, editing, color correction, visual effects, rooms for virtual filming.

Recall that in Yakutia in 2022 a regional law on state support for cinematography was adopted. The republic annually organizes a competition, the winners of which receive subsidies from the state budget of the republic to support and strengthen domestic film production.
