The day of free legal consultations is not a new practice. But it seems that it was the first time that so many specialists gathered in one place: the reception was held by 27 consultants from 14 organizations and departments, including representatives of the notary office, the bar association, the city administration, Rosreestr , Rospotrebnadzor, the bailiff service, the tax service, social protection authorities, etc.
The convenience is obvious: the appointment was without an appointment or long lines, each person had the opportunity to communicate with several consultants and resolve urgent legal issues in a single visit.

The format and number of invited consultants are chosen in such a way that citizens can receive help in a “one-stop shop” mode, without the need to go to different institutions and departments.”

Another objective of the event is to combat fraud. There are many stories of gullible people suffering at the hands of fake lawyers. One of them, for example, occurred recently in Yekaterinburg: scammers promised elderly spouses to pay off their debts for free and gave them such recommendations that in the end they would be left without the car they had purchased on credit and would lose all initial payments. And it is not a fact that after this the debt will be paid off in full.
As the lawyers said, the remedies mainly concern housing and communal services, real estate registration, family and inheritance issues, consumer protection, debt forgiveness and receipt of social benefits.
Of course, special attention was paid to the SVO participants and their families. Wives of combatants and military personnel undergoing treatment returning home after completing their contract sought legal assistance. Issues related to the procedure for the provision of social benefits and payments, receipt of rehabilitation means, provision of medical care and others. Each one received qualified advice about their situation and how to act on it.
The organizers of the event admitted that they did not expect such an active response from the people. But, since there is interest, it is planned that the Free Legal Consultation Days will become traditional. Also, as Irina Perevalova said, for convenience on the website of the branch of the public organization a list of subjects of free legal assistance will be created with the main questions and a list of those categories of citizens who can receive it.
