Almost immediately after the solemn ceremony in the Catherine Hall, Vladimir Putin had already met with the government.

His main topic was the development of border checkpoints: “This is especially important now,” the president briefly described.

But he started the meeting from a completely different point – “from a question that can also be said to be of decisive importance for the integration of the Donetsk regions, the Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporozhye People’s Republics into the all-Russian cultural space” – from preparations in these regions for the beginning of the academic year.

– In the new academic year, schoolchildren must have all the necessary books and textbooks. And, of course, it is necessary to provide residents of Donbass and Novorossia with access to Internet resources with electronic and audio books, so that everyone can get acquainted with new book releases or reread the classics in Russian, plunge into the world of well-known literary characters.

The head of the Ministry of Education, Sergei Kravtsov, explained that already last year all the necessary textbooks were delivered: 7.5 million units of textbooks and educational literature. Libraries and schools are also actively updating in this regard.

In addition, the Ministry of Education has developed a unified program for teaching history:

– The first unified state textbook for grades 10 and 11 was created. For the first time, two courses have been synchronized: “History of Russia” and “General history”. Almost a third of the 10th grade textbook is devoted to the Great Patriotic War. And the 11th grade textbook reflects the reunification of Crimea and Sevastopol, the causes and the course of the special military operation, the entry of new regions into Russia, – said Sergey Kravtsov.

Starting September 1 of this year, all eleventh grade students will study according to a modern history textbook.
