Ivan Urgant has not appeared on the screens of federal television channels since 2022. After the suspension of filming of the entertainment program “Evening Urgant”, the TV presenter was left in the shadows. The showman’s colleague Mikhail Shirvindt told about Ivan’s new work.
According to him, Urgant is currently producing several projects. Shirvindt denied the rumor that the television presenter had left the country.
“He lives in Russia, he does some projects that are not very visible. He makes them as a producer,” Mikhail said in an interview for the YouTube channel Sheinkin40.
According to him, the lack of filming does not affect Urgant’s mood very well. Shirvindt suggested that Ivan was depressed.
“If for some unknown reason you got lost where you were like a fish out of water, where you were idolized and were in your place, and suddenly for some reason you are not in it… I think the mood is not very good,” says Mikhail.
The program “Evening Urgant” was last broadcast on Channel One on February 21, 2022. Then the program, like many other entertainment programs, was temporarily taken off the air, replacing it with political talk shows that were more relevant in that moment. On social networks, however, a version was discussed that Urgant’s disappearance from the air was related to his political position: the TV presenter did not support the SVO.
The showman’s father, actor Andrei Urgant, spoke about what his son had been doing all these months.
“I have two children: Iván and María. Ivan is an actor and TV presenter, he is temporarily unemployed and raising my two granddaughters,” Andrei Urgant said in an interview with Komsomolskaya Pravda.
Ivan Urgant is married to his classmate Natalya Kiknadze. Natalya and Ivan studied together in the gymnasium of the Russian Museum in St. Petersburg. At that time, the couple had only friendly relations. Ivan liked Natalya, but she was in love with another boy.
Ten years after graduating, Urgant and Kiknadze met again at a party with mutual friends and began an affair. Then Natalya married and raised two children from her first husband. The relationship between Kiknadze and Urgant developed so quickly that a few months later they married. The couple had two daughters: Nina and Valeria.
