“I think all women in New York should be truly brave,” is how Katherine Holstein described the heroine who became the central figure of her spring-summer show. As you can imagine, it was dedicated to a woman who was fragile on the outside but strong on the inside, like the designer herself.
The collection was built on this eternal contrast: leather pants were combined with wrinkled and translucent blouses; biker jackets with dynamic fringe, while the tapered lapels and broad shoulders of the trench coats are paired with crisp white dresses with puff sleeves. In typical American designer fashion, Holstein paid special attention to the accessory and footwear lines. The collection includes practical shoes with mesh inserts, as well as bags: from elegant shoulder bags to voluminous sports bags. But another interesting detail still caught our attention: a belt in the shape of clasped hands: a symbol of protection or a tenacious grip?
