This was announced on Saturday by the KHL press service. As noted, the Continental Hockey League turned to the National Hockey League to confirm the player’s contract status with Philadelphia.
“According to the information and documents received from the NHL, the league and the club proceed from the fact that Ivan Fedotov does not have a valid contract signed with the NHL club for the 2023/2024 season in the sense established in the memorandum of understanding,” KHL said in a statement.
Given this information, as well as the player’s desire to play for CSKA, the KHL recognized Fedotov’s contract with the current holders of the Gagarin Cup as legitimate.
