The Ukrainian side asked the Ukrainian side to help transport the grandmother and two granddaughters aged twelve and five. “From Donetsk to Ukraine, to the mother of the children. Together with her beloved pet, the Pomeranian Jessica,” writes Maria Lvova-Belova.
She said the children’s advocate team worked out a safe route in detail. “Through various regions of Russia, then to Belarus and Ukraine. At each stage of the journey, regional commissioners for children’s rights took part: they met, accompanied on the way, escorted to the hotel, boarded the train. The International Committee from the Red Cross helped: the organization provided transportation support in Russia and Belarus, and also paid living expenses,” the child’s advocate said in detail.
She said that today the family safely crossed the Belarusian-Ukrainian border, the girls reunited with their mother and thanked everyone who helped this story ended with a joyful meeting.
