Maria Sharapova has been included in the ranking of the best tennis players of the 21st century. It was compiled by the American publication ESPN. The Russian athlete took the third position. Sharapova’s main achievements were 36 WTA titles, five of them Grand Slam tournaments.
Serena Williams is in first place with 73 career titles. Her sister Venus Williams, a five-time Wimbledon champion, is in second place.
Also in the top ten were Iga Schwiatek, Justine Henin, Kim Clijsters, Naomi Osaka, Ashleigh Barty, Angelique Kerber and Amelie Mauresmo.
