Earlier, the department reported that rescuers went to help a group of foreign tourists in Kabardino-Balkaria. Descending from Elbrus at an altitude of 5300 meters, a tourist group of five people called for help, as two participants fell ill.
Later, information appeared that eight rescuers arrived to help the climbers. Accompanied by employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, they continued their descent from Elbrus.
Now the tourist group is at the base of the rescue team of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the village of Terskol. “The tourists made it through the descent, accompanied by rescuers in a blizzard, snow and gusty winds,” the report says.
It was noted that the trip was not registered with the Russian Emergencies Ministry.
