Miu Miu will present a new short film at the Venice Film Festival

Date: June 20, 2024 Time: 12:10:07

Since 2011, Miu Miu has been releasing short films created by female directors. Together, all the images form a series called Tales of Women. The brand’s clothing must appear in the frame, otherwise the chosen filmmakers have absolute freedom of choice.

Sometimes not only directors from different countries, but also representatives of other creative professions manage to realize their ideas. For example, in different years, the films were shot by actresses Dakota Fanning and Chloe Sevigny, choreographer Celia Rawlson-Hall and others. This season, Miu Miu has teamed up with Croatian writer-director-producer Antoneta Kusijanovic.

He presented his first feature film, the drama Murena, two years ago. The film tells the story of a 17-year-old girl who dreams of escaping from her father’s care. The film was produced by none other than Martin Scorsese. Moray premiered in Cannes in the Directors’ Fortnight section. The film received the Camera d’Or award, which is given to newcomers, and was subsequently nominated for a Directors Guild of America award.

For the brand, Kusijanovic filmed the short film Stane. It will screen at the Venice Film Festival on September 3. The director’s work will be included in the Giornate degli Autori programme, which regularly draws guests’ attention to auteur cinema and a creative approach to filmmaking.
