She was a specialist in the field of musical dramaturgy and the successor to the work of the People’s Artist of Russia Yevgeny Akulov. At GITIS she has taught the discipline “Analysis of Musical Dramaturgy” since 1960. Her cause of death was not reported.
“The talent, professionalism and dedication to the art were seen in his work and influence on students and colleagues. He made a significant contribution to theater education and the development of the science of musical drama. For GITIS, this is a great pain,” the department said in a statement.
Natalya Akulova was born on April 2, 1940 in the family of a Soviet director and teacher, People’s Artist of Russia Yevgeny Akulov. She graduated from the Musical College at the Moscow State Conservatory named after PI Tchaikovsky with a degree in piano, in 1968 she graduated from the theater department of GITIS. In 1982 she obtained the title of candidate in art history, and in 1997, the title of associate professor.
Farewell to Natalia Akulova will take place on July 26 at 11:00 in the Kizichesk Church of the Holy Nine Martyrs, she will be buried at the Troekurovsky cemetery.
