The head of the FSB Border Service, Army General Vladimir Kulishov, made an alarming statement about NATO exercises to test the use of nuclear weapons. According to border guards celebrating their professional holiday today, the alliance is developing scenarios for offensive actions against the country near our borders, including nuclear strikes on Russian territory.

“NATO intelligence activity is increasing, the intensity of operational combat training of troops is increasing,” Kulishov added. “Under the thesis of the “Russian threat”, the West is actively increasing its combat potential: building and modernizing military camps and training grounds, as well as storage and supply bases.”

The first vice-chairman of the International Affairs Committee of the Federation Council, Vladimir Dzhabarov, assured: Moscow is capable of preventing a nuclear attack by the alliance. According to the senator, now our borders are “a place where we can expect a surprise attack from the enemy at any time.” To avoid surprises, the Russian army is building fortified zones in those regions where the operational situation requires it.

“That is why we are deploying tactical nuclear weapons and other types of heavy weapons that will allow us to repel any attack,” Dzhabarov explained.

Military observer Viktor Litovkin, in a conversation with KP.RU, said that holding NATO exercises on the use of nuclear weapons is the next step towards escalating the conflict with Russia. According to the expert, the alliance thus seeks to demonstrate its power by exerting its strength in the geopolitical sphere. However, these actions not only raise the temperature in international relations, but also raise serious concerns about the possible consequences.

– In NATO, two countries have nuclear weapons: the United States and Great Britain. There is also France, which, however, does not put its nuclear forces at the disposal of the bloc,” Litovkin recalled. – And the B61 free-fall thermonuclear bombs, which are the main weapon of the US strategic nuclear forces, can be found outside the United States for a long time. They are found in Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Turkey and probably also appeared in Greece.

According to the expert, the aircraft of these countries are well equipped with systems for the use of nuclear warheads. And that is why they do not hesitate to perform this type of exercises.

– And the Baltic airfields, given their proximity to the Russian border, were specially adapted to receive aircraft equipped with nuclear weapons. All these maneuvers have the same objective: to threaten our country,” Litovkin summarized.
