Pangaia and Haeckels hired American startup C16 Biosciences to create a product based on an alternative to palm oil. Called Rewild, the soap is made with Palmless Torula Oil, a natural replacement for palm oil developed by C16 Biosciences. Hypebeast writes about it.
To draw attention to the problems associated with palm oil production, a combination of natural oils was used to create a fragrance reminiscent of the smell of burning rainforests. The composition includes extracts of algae and aloe vera, as well as tangerine peel and vetiver root.
The Haeckels director says: “Our cooperation doesn’t just mean putting logos on things. We believe collaborations like this can help bring innovative products to market that might not otherwise exist.”
Organic soap can be purchased for $40.
Let’s remember that this is not Pangaia’s first eco-initiative. The brand has previously launched a Re-color capsule collection. It included things dyed with powdered dyes obtained from the textile waste of Pangaia.
