Primark lowers clothing prices to help families with back-to-school

Date: July 27, 2024 Time: 06:56:48

Primark will cut the prices of hundreds of children’s fashion staples ahead of the autumn/winter campaign to help families cope with the rising cost of living, the low-cost fashion brand said in a statement. The measure represents a significant saving for back-to-school purchases.

Specifically, this measure will apply to the prices of certain product lines that will reach the 58 stores of the brand in Spain from July 31. Primark recalled that inflation in Spain is still high, so it wants to support its customers, offering them the “best value for money”.

The introduction of lower prices on these selected product lines for Autumn/Winter 2023 builds on the decision the Irish multinational took last year to freeze prices on more than 1,000 items of children’s and baby clothing.

Primark’s managing director for Spain and Portugal, Carlos Inácio, has acknowledged the impact of the current economic context on households. “The rising cost of living continues to affect many families in Spain, and we know that value for money has never been more important to our customers. We are firmly committed to always offering the best value for money in our products,” he said.

“Children’s clothing is an essential purchase, and we know that preparing for the new school year can be very expensive for many families. Therefore, we have lowered the prices of many of our basic children’s items, while still offering the same high quality, “he explained ahead of the ‘back to school’ in September.
