Prosegur obtained a net profit of 43 million euros in the first half of the year, which represents an increase of 8.1% compared to the same period a year earlier. Likewise, between January and June, the consolidated net result, discounting minority interests, stood at 35 million euros, 13.7% more than in the same year of 2022, when it reached 31 million euros.
Prosegur also achieved sales of 2,196 million euros, which represents growth of 9.7% compared to the first half of 2022, according to what the company has sent to the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV), which has also highlighted that These results demonstrate the firm’s ability “to maintain an upward trajectory and consolidate itself as a benchmark in the sector.”
Between January and June, the company generated a gross operating result (Ebitda) of 244 million euros, which represents an increase of 11.9% compared to the previous year. In terms of profitability, Prosegur has shown a solid performance, with growth in earnings before interest, taxes and amortization (Ebita) of more than 16%, up to 152 million euros, and a “significant” improvement in its margin.
“Additional improvement in profitability”
The company has predicted that it expects this growth dynamic to continue during the second half of the year, “accompanied by an additional improvement in profitability in organic terms.”
For its part, the net financial debt at the end of the first semester reached 1,193 million euros, with an average cost of 2.5%, while the level of indebtedness remained stable with a ratio of net financial debt to Ebitda of 2 ,3 times
By region, Latin America, which represented 49% of total revenue, experienced growth of 6% compared to the same previous period, reaching a turnover of 1,087 million euros. Europe, for its part, decreased a growth of 14.6%, reaching 857 million euros and representing 39% of the group’s income. In the rest of the geographies, sales have reached 857 million euros, experiencing an increase of 10.2%.
During this semester, Prosegur has explained that it maintained its focus on the penetration of new products, achieving “outstanding” results in Prosegur Cash, where its sales reached 150 million euros, marking a record quarter and representing 30% of global sales. of the ‘Cash’ business.
In addition, at Prosegur Security, ‘hybrid security’ solutions have continued to increase their presence in the customer base, being largely responsible for the growth and improvement of margins.
