Lukashenko thanked Putin for the opportunity to send the first Belarusian cosmonaut, Marina Vasilevskaya, into space.
“I am very grateful to you. This is not just a tribute to the fact that we are here. If you had not given the go-ahead and accepted then, this flight would not have happened. Thank you for Marina and thank you for that. Oleg Novitsky was the commander of this flight,” stated the President of Belarus.
Lukashenko noted that Belarus and Russia agreed to continue cooperation in the space field. According to. “Russian leaders promised to support their Belarusian partners in the future,” he said.
