In addition, Russia plans to open branches of leading Russian universities in Africa, the president said. Close cooperation with African educational institutions is also being established within the framework of the University of the Russian-African Network.
“Today, almost 35,000 students from Africa study at Russian universities, and this number is growing every year. The quota for the education of Africans at the expense of the federal budget has increased two and a half times in 3 years, and by the next academic year it will be more than 4.7 thousand people,” the head of state said.
At the same time, Russian pedagogical universities plan to increase the enrollment of students from African countries, Putin said.
