Information is spreading on social networks in Udmurtia that several Izhevsk residents have allegedly been infected with anthrax. Even in a specific number of cases, they say, a dangerous disease was detected at once in seven employees of a military defense company. However, these messages turned out to be nothing more than false. The goal is to sow panic, misinform people… Komsomolskaya Pravda checked the information. This was done as part of a joint project with Noodles Media aimed at exposing false information.
As they commented in the Rospotrebnadzor department of the Republic of Udmurtia, there is absolutely no focus of anthrax in the region.
Here is the official statement from the agency:
– The Rospotrebnadzor Office of the Republic of Udmurtia declares that the information about seven anthrax cases is false and does not correspond to reality. On the territory of the republic there have been no cases of anthrax infection.
