SNCF puts train tickets on sale to travel between Barcelona and Paris for 39 euros

Date: September 8, 2024 Time: 06:28:20

The French state operator SNCF continues with its expansion plans in Spain and as a way of expanding its TGV brand InOui has put tickets on sale for its high-speed train between Barcelona and Paris at a promotional price of 39 euros, also offering the Possibility of traveling to different cities in the south of France such as Montpellier, Nimes or Valence for 29 euros.

The promotional offer to travel with SNCF Voyageurs is available until Sunday the 17th through its website (www.sncf-connect.com) and affects all those TGV InOui trains that run between October 1 and December 8. The firm has selected these dates based on a study carried out by the consulting firm Atrevia, which ensures that more than 30% of Spaniards who plan to visit France this year will do so during the fall.

In this way, the French state operator, which operates in Spain with its InOui TGV and the Ouigo brand, seeks to reinforce its commitment “to facilitate access to a more sustainable mobility alternative between Spain and France, with transport that emits a 98% less CO2 than the plane and 93% less than the car.”

Reactivating the cross-border connection

Since launching its TGV InOui product between Barcelona and Paris in December 2022, SNCF defends the “good reception” of the service and claims to have transported almost half a million travelers between both cities in the first half of the year. Since July, the company has had competition from Renfe on the Barcelona-Lyon section, although it retains the monopoly in the south direction to the French capital, where its Spanish counterpart intends to reach in spring 2024, before the Olympic Games begin.

SNCF connects Barcelona and Paris with two daily frequencies per direction, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Trains departing from the Catalan Sants station depart at 10:33 and 2:32 p.m. and arrive at Paris-Gare de Lyon at 5:18 p.m. and 9:18 p.m. In the opposite direction, the trip from the French capital begins at 9:42 or 2:56 p.m., arriving in Barcelona at 4:25 p.m. and 9:25 p.m., respectively.
