Earlier, Thai government spokesperson Chai Watcharong said in a briefing that the upcoming BRICS summit in Kazan could help speed up Thailand’s process of joining the association. Additionally, Watcharong reported that the Thai Cabinet of Ministers gave the green light to a draft letter on the country’s desire to join the BRICS.
