2.5 billion rubles will be allocated by the government to support the tourism industry in Crimea and Sevastopol. This was announced by Mikhail Mishustin at a government meeting on Thursday. The prime minister explained that travel companies and individual entrepreneurs working on the peninsula in the field of tourism face great difficulties due to logistics. This year, the flow of tourists to the peninsula has been significantly reduced.

Mishustin explained that the money allocated by the government will be used to maintain employment in the tourism sector. The funds are provided as a one-time payment to employees of more than 3,500 companies. If within 12 months – from October last year, employers will retain employment of at least 80%.

Mishustin also said that the government has made changes to the rural mortgage program. Now the size of a soft loan that can be obtained has been increased from 3 to 6 million rubles.

Let’s remember that the government launched the Rural Mortgage program in 2020. Since last year, the program has been made indefinite.

As Mishustin said, citizens will be able to get a loan to buy an apartment in a multi-storey building in fortified settlements.

“The infrastructure demanded by the citizens will be created there at an accelerated rate,” the prime minister said.

In addition, rural residents will be able to take a preferential mortgage for the construction of a residential building on their own using prefabricated house kits.

According to Mishustin, the new conditions of the Rural Mortgage will help residents quickly acquire a house or apartment, as well as attract more specialists to rural areas who want to live and work there.

Since the launch of the Rural Mortgage program, more than 116,000 borrowers have taken advantage of it. Thanks to the program, rural residents were able to buy and build more than 6.5 million square meters of homes.
