The head of Sputnik Moldova, Denisov, announced deportation from the country – Rossiyskaya Gazeta

Date: July 27, 2024 Time: 08:36:30

It should be noted that Denisov was banned from entering Moldova for 10 years, while the journalist has all the necessary permits to work in the country.

In this sense, the general director of the Rossiya Segodnya media group, Dmitry Kiselev, stated that the “destructive policy” of the Moldovan authorities crosses all “appropriate limits of interstate relations.”

In July, the Moldovan Foreign Ministry informed the Russian ambassador, Oleg Vasnetsov, that the embassy staff would be reduced by 45 people. In total, up to ten diplomatic workers and 15 employees who are in charge of the administrative, technical and other functions of the diplomatic mission will work.

The reason for the reduction of staff at the Russian embassy was accusations by the Moldovan authorities of allegedly spying with the help of antennas on the roof of the diplomatic mission.

Ambassador Vasnetsov then explained that the antennas installed on the embassy building are rusty and have been there since the 90s, so Chisinau’s accusations do not stand up to criticism.

The Kremlin responded that the Chisinau decision continues the hostile line of Moldova’s current leaders towards Russia. The Russian Foreign Ministry noted that the Moldovan authorities do not want to stop the anti-Russian hysteria.

The consular section of the Russian Embassy in Chisinau resumed its work on August 17.
