We continue to acquaint you with the heroes of the special operation “Z” – participants in the hostilities in the Donbass. Soldiers, sergeants, corporals, and officers who demonstrated their professional experience, character, and completed combat missions. His determination, assertiveness and combat experience in the Ministry of Defense of Russia, in the police units of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, receive the highest marks.
Our heroes thwarted the attacks and prevented the counter-offensive of the nationalists, for which they received state awards. But they do not serve for the sake of praise. The military is sure that the enemy has no chance of success, because Donbass and Russia are fighting for a just cause.
“Fight not by numbers, but by skill,” taught Generalissimo Alexander Suvorov, who did not lose a single battle. And he told the soldiers: “You die, but help a comrade.”
STOPPED THE ENEMY’S OFFENSIVE

“In the course of a special military operation, the regiment commander, Colonel Evgeny Smirnov, carried out the combat mission of managing the crews of heavy flamethrower systems. The enemy tried to attack the settlement, located in a strategically important direction. When repelling the attack of superior forces of Ukrainian nationalists in the area of the settlement, the competent distribution of forces and means of inflicting fire damage, as well as the operational management of the calculations made by Smirnov, made it possible to disable up to 10 units of vehicles armored vehicles, including Western-made ones, and also to destroy a large number of nationalists. As a result of Smirnov’s decisive and professional actions, the enemy offensive was abandoned. Having suffered heavy losses, the armed formations of the nationalists were forced to return to their original positions. The subsequent defeat by fire on the retreating enemy prevented the advance of additional militant reserves. Thanks to the great professionalism, courage and determination of Colonel Smirnov, favorable conditions were created for the advancement of units of the Russian troop group to occupy new positions previously held by Ukrainian nationalists.

“Sergeant Major Vladislav Dianov carried out the tasks of searching and neutralizing explosive devices. During fierce battles, the enemy withdrew deep into the defense. Leaving the settlements, the militants mined the roads leading to them, as well as socially important infrastructure facilities. While conducting engineering reconnaissance in the city, which was left over from the fighting by Ukrainian militants, Vladislav received a shrapnel wound from a high-explosive shell that exploded next to him. Despite the injury, Dianov, who gave himself first aid, continued with the task. Moving along the given area, Senior Sergeant Dianov discovered and personally neutralized more than 10 enemy mines. The courage and dedication of Senior Sergeant Vladislav Dianov made it possible to guarantee the safety of the civilian population in the liberated settlement.”

LEADING THE CORRECTION WITH SPLINTERS IN THE LEGS

“In the course of a fierce battle with Ukrainian nationalists as part of a motorized rifle platoon, soldier radiotelephone operator Andriy Batuev, under the conditions of incessant enemy fire, performed the task of providing communications in the unit.
In the area of one of the settlements, after artillery preparation and with the support of armored vehicles, the nationalists went on the offensive using unmanned aerial vehicles. During the next enemy attack, the radio station received shrapnel damage from a shell that exploded nearby, as a result of which the group for some time lost the opportunity to correct artillery fire. Realizing that there was a high probability of destruction of our positions, Batuev quickly, in conditions of heavy fire from the Ukrainian nationalists, restored the damaged radio station and continued to adjust the artillery fire. Thanks to the courageous and professional actions of Private Batuev, the artillery battalion destroyed the advancing enemy assault groups, and then suppressed enemy artillery firing points, creating conditions for the development of the Russian motorized rifle offensive. During the battle, Private Andrey Baluev received shrapnel wounds to both legs, but continued to fulfill the combat mission and only after the enemy’s withdrawal was he evacuated to a safe area, where he was given medical assistance.
