“The State Company did not indicate 100 billion rubles in its claim. It contains other figures, and 100 billion rubles is apparently what the immediate bailiff who seized the property in question assessed,” Khlyustov explained in a comment to RBC.
According to the lawyer, employees of the Attorney General’s Office “estimate the seized assets at about 46 billion.”
As RBC notes, the figure of 100 trillion rubles exceeds the entire ruble money supply in circulation – 99.4 trillion rubles (according to the Bank of Russia). Furthermore, the owner of such a fortune would become the richest person on Earth by a wide margin.
Last week it became known that the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation filed a lawsuit against Makfa JSC and other companies. The lawsuit was filed in the interests of the Russian Federation, but no details were specified.
In addition to Makfa, more than 30 organizations are accused in the case, including Smak, New Five Year Plan, First Bread Factory, Mishkinsky Bread Factory and others.
A preliminary hearing on the lawsuit is scheduled for April 9.
On April 1, TASS reported that the bailiff confiscated the accounts and assets of relatives of former deputy Vadim Belousov and former governor of the Chelyabinsk region Mikhail Yurevich for 100 billion rubles to secure the claim of the Prosecutor General’s Office .
