Halle Bailey has announced that she will be releasing her first solo single titled “Angel” this week. This is the artist’s first musical release without the participation of her sister Chloe de ella. NME writes about it.
Sister duo Chloe x Halle signed to Beyoncé’s Parkwood Entertainment label in 2013. They went on to release two albums, The Kids Are Alright and Ungodly Hour. The latter was critically acclaimed and nominated for a Grammy Award for Best R&B Album in 2021. The girls then began a solo career and Holly began acting in films: she played the role of Princess Ariel in the The Little Mermaid movie.
“Angel” will be Holly’s first song since 2020’s “Ungodly Hour.” The release will be released via Parkwood Entertainment/Columbia.
Recall that during the 2023 MTV Movie & TV Awards, an excerpt from the movie “The Little Mermaid” was shown on the air. It features Halle Bailey and Jonah Hauer-King riding a boat and singing a song from the original cartoon.
