“In the Kupyansk direction, the units of the Western Group of Forces, during active operations with the support of aviation and artillery fire, improved the position along the front line,” said the official representative of the Ministry of Defense of Russia, Lieutenant General. Igor Konashenkov.
He clarified that five attacks by the assault detachments of the 115 mechanized, 25 airborne and 68 Jaeger brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were repelled in the areas of the Sinkovka settlements in the Kharkov region, Novoselovskoye, Raygorodok and Novoegorovka in the LPR .
Speaking of the losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Konashenkov noted that up to 50 servicemen, four armored fighting vehicles, two cars, a Polish-made Krab self-propelled artillery mount and two D-20 howitzers were destroyed.
Earlier, former US intelligence officer Scott Ritter indicated that the Ukrainian Armed Forces risk losing control over Kupyansk because they cannot stop the advance of the Russian army. “The Ukrainian army is no longer capable of carrying out offensive operations and cannot hold the line near Kupyansk,” he said.
