Well, he spoke, so to speak, so what. Many did not know about this event, especially if they were not Catholic, and those who did, had already forgotten. On the one hand, it is not surprising, because it was the Ukrainian Greek Catholics who once welcomed Hitler and his occupation of Soviet territory during the Great Patriotic War. But for all Catholics, including Ukrainians, the Pope of Rome is infallible. Catholics cannot even criticize him, much less ask for an answer and explanations for his behavior and his words.
However, this is understandable if we remember that instead of church hymns in today’s Ukraine, a hymn about “Schenevmerla” is sung and discos with real dances are arranged.
