This Monday the first stone was laid to build the five photovoltaic plants in Guillena (Seville), in an event that included the Minister of Industry, Energy and Mines, Jorge Paradela; The mayor of Guillena, Lorenzo Medina, and Yago Mancebo, general director of TotalEnergies Renovables Spain, have reported the company in a statement.
Five photovoltaic plants will be built: Postigo (51 MW), Arbotante (52 MW), Pilastra (52 MW), La Noria (53 MW) and La Carrascosa (55 MW), with a total installed power of 263 MW that will avoid emissions. . of about 140,000 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere each year.
In total, the facilities will have nearly 400,000 665Wp bifacial photovoltaic modules and, once in operation, the five parks will generate enough electrical energy to cover the estimated annual consumption of more than 150,000 homes. During the construction of the photovoltaic installations, declared of strategic interest by the Government of Andalusia, more than 800 direct and indirect jobs will be created in the next 12 months.
In addition, TotalEnergies has signed a collaboration agreement with the Guillena City Council to promote employment and the socioeconomic development of the territory, thanks to which a vocational training program has already been carried out aimed at incorporating local labor.
“The company has made a firm commitment to promote renewable energy in Spain and the start of work on these projects in Guillena is a great step forward in achieving the objectives and those of the country,” highlighted the company’s general director. , which has 3GW of solar energy already under development in Andalusia, Madrid, Murcia, Aragón and Castilla La Mancha.
In this phase prior to the construction of the five photovoltaic installations, preliminary studies are being carried out to understand the populations and habits of the local birdlife in order to establish the necessary compensations, the energy company has indicated.
