Volodin on his Telegram channel noted that elections in Russia ended in 85 regions (in 21, heads of regions were elected, in 4 districts, deputies of the State Duma, in 20, deputies of legislative assemblies).

Commenting on the course of the campaign in the Donetsk and Lugansk people’s republics, in the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, the speaker recalled that a year ago the inhabitants of these regions decided in a referendum to be with Russia.

“Today this desire to live in a single country and develop together is confirmed once again. Thank you all for your active citizenship,” he stressed.

Volodin drew attention to the fact that Washington and Brussels did everything possible to prevent these elections from taking place: provocations, intimidation and bombing by the Kiev regime were used.

“But their plans failed,” the parliamentarian is sure. “The security of voters was guaranteed and the vote was conducted openly, honestly and in a competitive fight.”

The speaker believes that the high turnout demonstrated the desire of the inhabitants of the new territories to influence the future development of their region and all of Russia.

In the Donetsk and Lugansk people’s republics, in the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, where regional parliaments were elected, according to preliminary data, United Russia won: the party received almost 75% to 83% of the votes. The new regions showed high participation: in the DPR it exceeded 76%, in the LPR – 72.5%, in the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions it was more than 66% and 65%, respectively.
