Warner Bros. Discovery Studio will release the first localized version of the “Tom and Jerry” series. In it, the recognizable cat-and-mouse duo will be in Singapore. Write about it Deadline.
The new animated series, created in Asia in conjunction with Warner Bros. Animation, will launch on Cartoon Network in Asia Pacific, as well as HBO Go in Southeast Asia, Taiwan and Hong Kong later this year. After that, the project will be located at sites around the world. The pilot episode is scheduled for release in August.
The project was produced by Carlin Tan of Warner Bros. Discovery, the animation was done by the Indian studio Aum Animation Studios, and the plot and design were carried out by the Singaporean companies Robot Playground Media and Chips and Toon Studios.
Christopher Ho, Head of Children’s Direction for Warner Bros. Discovery in Southeast Asia, said: “This animated series takes us back to the iconic music and classic animation style of the 1950s, but with a modern Singaporean twist. An Asian city-state with an authentic vibe is the perfect place to create a humorous backdrop for an iconic franchise.”
Previously, Warner Bros. released a trailer for the movie “Tom and Jerry.” It was shot in a hybrid format: the film has live actors and animation elements. Along with the cartoon cat and mouse, Chloë Grace Moretz, Michael Peña, Colin Jost and Rob Delaney appeared in the film.
