Citizens are waiting for new articles from more than 130 publishers from all over Russia. The program includes meetings with authors, lectures and discussion platforms, dozens of master classes, educational events and, of course, a separate program for young readers. But literature alone will not do: there will be performances for children and performances by musical groups.
The festival will host meetings with writers such as Alexei Ivanov, Anna Matveeva, Vasily Avchenko, Roman Senchin, Vera Bogdanova, Evgenia Nekrasova, Yana Vagner, Marina Moskvina, Alexei Salnikov, Denis Dragunsky, Ksenia Burzhskaya, the poet Dmitry Vodennikov and international guests. The authors are Borut Krashenets (Serbia), Sukhbat Aflatuni (Uzbekistan) and Rahim Jafarov (Azerbaijan).
Anna Dolgareva, Anna Revyakina, Alexander Pelevin and Igor Karaulov will present the Poetry of the Russian Summer project.
Young readers are invited to an interactive meeting with Anastasia Orlova “Where is the truck going and what is the trailer carrying?” Who will you be? They learn all about fandom counterculture, sci-fi clubs, and cosplay contests. All lovers of mathematics (and not lovers too) are invited by Petr Zemskov to mathematical tricks, and Alexander Pinegin to a concert.
The first day of the festival will end with a performance by the Forbidden Drummers group. There will be other concerts. The full program of the festival can be found on the website.
Evgeniy Gorenburg, director of the Red Line International Book Festival and the Ural Music Night Music Festival, is confident that the Red Line International Book Festival “will be a worthy gift for the 300th anniversary of Yekaterinburg.
