It is explained that the specified organization was included in the list “in accordance with parts 1, 4 and 7 of article 3.1 of the Federal Law “On measures of influence on persons involved in violations of human rights and fundamental freedoms, the rights and freedoms of citizens of the Russian Federation”, as well as on the basis of the decision of the First Deputy Prosecutor General of Russia, adopted on June 20 of this year.
It was previously reported that under the pretext of preserving the environment, WWF hinders the industrial development of the Arctic and serves as a cover for projects that pose a threat to Russia’s economic security.
According to the General Prosecutor’s Office, WWF has formed a network of controlled NGOs “to collect information on the environmental situation in Russia’s regions and prepare biased, pseudo-independent assessments aimed at curbing the economic development of the Russian Federation.”
