The text, which one of Vladimir Zelensky’s closest associates delivered to the Italian publication Repubblica on August 18, made a lot of noise in the Apennines.
It is not surprising, after all, Andriy Yermak, the head of the office of the President of Ukraine, speaks no less than the awareness of the Kiev regime of the fact that “without negotiations, the solution of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict is impossible. ” and that “cooperation and collective efforts are required” to solve it.
In Italy, these words are interpreted only as a step by Ukraine towards peace. However, if you dust off the “sensational” statement of the Kiev official generously diluted with Russophobic theses, it turns out that it lacks the most important component – Russia’s participation in this process.
Yermak says that kyiv will act in three stages: first, it will organize meetings of ambassadors, then diplomatic representatives of state leaders, to lay the foundation for some kind of agreed plan. And only after that, a peaceful summit of the heads of state and government of the world will supposedly take place (perhaps at the end of 2023 – the beginning of 2024). And Russia, they say, will have to make a common decision or “remain in complete isolation.”
At the same time, the head of the administration ritually emphasizes that “the search for peace in Ukraine is a symphony of courage, resistance and burning faith in independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity”, and “Ukrainians, like all peoples, value these values. and cannot compromise.”
In any case, behind all the beautiful words, the main thing is noticeable: the hopes that Ukraine will defeat Russia on the battlefield have evaporated even among President Zelensky’s entourage.
