Ivan Bannikov, manager of Russian fighter Alexander Volkov, said his pupil had signed a new contract with the organization.
“Sasha signed a new contract before this fight. There are still many fights. As I said before, there are two major issues in the heavyweight division. We need to wait for a response. Who will win the Jones-Miocic fight and what the new or old champion will do with his career,” TASS quotes the manager.
Previously, Volkov, who defeated Tai Tuivasa at UFC 293, rose to sixth place in the heavyweight rankings.
