“Ours” have six gold awards!

At the Paris Olympics, one medal fell into the treasury of the Russians, acting in a neutral status: silver, won by tennis players Mirra Andreeva and Diana Schneider.

An important medal for Russian sport:

Schneider and Andreeva did not win gold, but they gave a feeling of life. It is much more expensive

Our compatriots, who changed their sporting citizenship at different times, won many more awards. In total, there were more than 60 people, and almost a quarter of them were able to climb onto the podium.

Former Russians won the majority of awards in martial arts: seven medals were won by freestyle wrestlers, four by judokas and one medal in Greco-Roman wrestling.

Three countries with transfers from Russia were very lucky: Greece, Albania and Azerbaijan – our athletes won two medals each.

In Paris, former Russians made history. For example, the gold won by Akhmed Tazhudinov was the first for Bahrain in freestyle wrestling. Daria Varfolomeev gave Germany its first gold in rhythmic gymnastics and the Italian women’s volleyball team with Ekaterina Antropova became Olympic champions for the first time.

17 awards of various denominations (six gold, two silver and nine bronze) – this is the result of the former Russians at the Paris Olympics. If we count “our” medals and add the silver of Andreeva and Schneider, Russia, even with all the restrictions and exclusions, would be ranked 15th in the unofficial ranking, between the teams of Hungary and Spain.

It is a pity that we can only make these calculations in theory.
