Today, September 16, four matches of matchday 8 of the RPL will be played. CSKA will host Krylia Sovetov, Krasnodar will visit Akhmat, Spartak will face Sochi and Rostov will visit Baltika.
For Samara, playing against the army team is associated with negative memories. The last time Krylia Sovetov beat CSKA was four years ago, in July 2019. Since then, the Muscovites have won six out of seven games! It is interesting that today’s rivals are in approximately the same form: in six matches, both lost once, won three and drew once again. But there is no equality in the table: Igor Osinkin’s team is three points ahead of Vladimir Fedotov’s team. So not everything is as simple as it might seem if you look at the meeting history.
Krasnodar is the leader of the Russian championship after seven rounds. And Akhmat, when Miroslav Romashchenko was appointed, was incredibly transformed: after a disastrous start under the leadership of Sergei Tashuev, the Grozny team barely got out of the cycle of failures and rose to the middle of the table. In the last five matches the Grozny club won four times. Everything is also very positive for Krasnodar, but Vladimir Ivich’s team still has problems: victories were lost out of nowhere.
The chair began to shake under the command of Guillermo Abascal, or so it seemed to Spartak veterans and journalists. Although we must admit that it is not in vain: in the last four rounds of the RPL, Spartak scored only one point! Sochi, despite being in 12th place in the table, scored three more times in the same period. Now it seems that the Muscovites should win without problems. But how many times has it seemed like that during this season. And then everything turned out completely different.
So far, Baltika is not doing well in the elite. The historical level in the Premier League is not particularly encouraging: Sergei Ignashevich’s team only has three points. “Rostov” is also annoying, but for another reason: Valery Karpin once again talks about a very normal squad, a closed airport and exhaustion. Perhaps that is why the Donetsk team lost its last three games in the Russian Championship. Let’s hope that the match gives more positive emotions than the teams gave in the last part of the season.
