It seems that Trusova is not aware that she is resuming her career

The first Thursday of July is another day of strangeness for us. But it all started off harmlessly enough: with insider information that Alexandra Trusova plans to perform at the Russian national team skating trials in September.
To be honest, I initially wanted to ignore this news altogether – a year ago, at about the same time, information appeared that Anna Shcherbakova was going to enter the season. There is no need to describe for a long time how this turned out – now the Olympic champion does not even perform in ice shows due to injury.
On last year’s news about Anya and Sasha’s “return”:
A similar scenario (not an injury, of course, but a non-participation in the upcoming competitions) was seen with Trusova, until her agent burst into the information field. As it turned out, the former.
“The decision to resume her career demonstrates her unwavering will to achieve her goals of international recognition. I am glad that she is ready to continue her career in sport,” Alexey Nikolaev said in a commentary to Match TV.
Of course, the words were presented by journalists as the official position of the figure skater: it is logical that such a sought-after athlete and her agent maintain almost continuous contact.
Therefore, the media immediately began to call, and at least Tatyana Tarasova, Irina Rodnina, Yana Rudkovskaya, Natalya Bestemyanova managed to comment on Trusova’s return almost as a fait accompli…
But then Sasha announced via social media that Alexey Nikolaev was not her agent.
“It turns out that Sasha thought that we had stopped working, but I didn’t know about it. According to the contract, she was supposed to send me an official notice, but she didn’t. The agreement remained in effect. Now I’m waiting for the contract to be terminated. We will not be working together in the future,” the man had to explain.
She did not confirm Trusova’s return to competitive ice, stressing that her comment on the matter was “purely theoretical.”

Did Trusova herself say anything about the return?
Well, of course not. Alexandra limited herself to one sentence about Alexei Nikolaev and said nothing about a possible resumption of her sports career.
Her last words on the matter were dated July 1. Asked directly by RIA Novosti Sport about participating in test skates, Trusova replied: “We will see. I am not ready to answer this question yet.”
Sasha talked about performances in the show, several new interests and carefully avoided answering about competitions, as always in the last two and a half years after the Olympics. Still, she added that she lacks that same adrenaline; however, I frankly cannot believe in her return, just as I did not believe in Shcherbakova’s return a year ago.
Trusova seems to be as far removed from the sporting life as possible, which is all about training camps, routine workouts and dietary restrictions. Now Sasha is preparing for the wedding, showing everything in reality show mode, and her thoughts are more occupied with this than with resuming her career.

So, it is worth going back to the second paragraph of the text: this idea is worthless. Perhaps Trusova will make some comments on the Sports Day in Moscow, but even there, she will most likely limit herself to evasive statements.
Even if she really does perform in the skating events, it doesn’t mean anything. Elizaveta Tuktamysheva performed both programs last year and still suspended her career.
