The third set is the quintessence of the entire match. Terribly upset after losing the second set, Medvedev almost immediately gave up his serve, essentially paving the way for Novak to a nervous, but not the most difficult, victory in the Grand Slam tournament.

The compassionate Djokovic gave up one of his serves, but immediately returned his recently lost serve with a couple of minutes’ break.
