“Only CSKA fans didn’t like the referee.” Analysis of the refereeing in the eighth round of the RPL

Date: September 19, 2024 Time: 06:52:25

The RPL returned after a break for national teams and gave us a brilliant eighth round! In the main match, CSKA and Zenit died, and there was also the southern derby of Krasnodar against Rostov and another Spartak miss with Dynamo Makhachkala. This was supposed to be a test for referees. Has it happened?

Especially for the “Championship”, our expert, former RPL referee Igor Fedotov, analyzed the refereeing in the eighth round of the Russian Championship. Below is his review of all eight matches.

The maximum score is 8.5. The referee receives it if he directs the match without errors.

The score is reduced to 7.9 if the referee makes a key error: incorrectly awarding or failing to award a penalty kick, showing or failing to show a straight red card (to a player or members of the coaching staff), showing or failing to show a second yellow card (to a player or members of the coaching staff).

In case of a second key error, 0.5 points are deducted.

0.1 point is deducted for incorrectly showing or not showing a yellow card (to a player or members of the coaching staff), as well as for missing three to five infringements.

A point is deducted if the referee on VAR points out an error by the on-field referee, but the referee confirms his incorrect decision despite watching the replay.

The score in parentheses is the score of a referee who made a key error in the match, but performed well without that error.

“75% of referees would have called a foul on Lantratov. But he is not there.” Analysis of the refereeing in the 7th round of the RPL

“Rubin” – “Wings of the Soviets” – 0:2

Good job Bezborodov. The only incident was the award of a penalty against Rubin. The defender used his hands, hit him in the face with his fingers and then hit him in the throat with his forearm. The throat is a danger zone. Bezborodov was in the right position, awarded a penalty himself and showed a yellow card for rough play. Some people think he is a lightweight at 11 meters. But how lightweight is he if in the midfield they show yellow cards for such a thing?

Bezborodov’s score is 8.4.

“Orenburg” – “Lokomotiv” – 2:4

Egorov had a difficult game. Overall I liked it: controls, movement… everything is there. Egorov is still young and has good prospects – he will give an advantage to many of the current referees. But in the 26th minute he did not show the yellow card to the Loko player for disturbing a promising attack. Maybe he thought it was too early to punish. But it was still worth doing so. The intensity of the game could have increased significantly.

Prokhina correctly showed the yellow card at the critical moment. It helped that there was no high speed. He hit his calf and his leg slipped – that’s what saved him. Well done, I figured it out.

The moment of the penalty is simple. I don’t know why Egorov didn’t see it. The Orenburg player’s hand was pointed to the side and open for the referee. The VAR intervened and for some reason Egorov watched for a long time. But hey, he’s still young, he wants to find the moment when he was right and they called him in vain. This happens, it’s okay. The main thing is that in the end I made the right decision.

Egorov’s score is 7.8.

Loko is traditionally funny:

Loko and Orenburg offered a thriller. And young Batrakov has a unique achievement. Video

“Fakel” — “Paris NN” — 0:0

Lyubimov did not judge seven rounds, but was appointed for the eighth round. It worked out well, considering the break. He showed a yellow card to Kashtanova for begging towards the end of the match. Work plan, on time. There is a very fine line here: if you give a card in the first half, you will be in trouble. You cannot show it to anyone else and you may be made into a clown. Lyubimov did everything right.

It is clear that Lyubimov has not worked for a long time. I was a little shaken, the assistants helped me. The main thing is that there were no difficult episodes related to penalties and eliminations. Perhaps he will be nominated for the next round.

Lyubimov’s score is 8.4.

CSKA – Zenit – 0:1

I don’t understand why everyone didn’t like Sukhoi. Probably only CSKA fans didn’t like him. For me it was a very difficult match and absolutely normal refereeing. There were no mistakes, except one, when Diveev had to be shown a yellow card. In the 80th minute there was a confrontation and he came running, pushing the player and provoking him.

Sukhoi’s rating is 8.4.

It was not easy for Sukhoi:

Zenit and CSKA set up a meat grinder! And Sobolev got lost in the context of a new star.

“Krasnodar” – “Rostov” – 2:0

Kazartsev mistakenly awarded a penalty against Krasnodar for handball. I don’t know what he saw there. But Levnikov called him to the monitor and he corrected his decision. The only strange thing is Kazartsev’s wording: unpunished handball. This does not happen.

Kazartsev did not call a foul and did not give a yellow card to the Krasnodar player for disrupting a promising attack. He did not play the ball, but it hit him in the leg. It was necessary not to continue the game, but to stop and punish.

Kazartsev’s score is 7.8.

“Dynamo” – “Akhmat” – 4:2

In the 39th minute, a very difficult episode occurred, despite Chistyakov’s position. The ball hit his body first, then his hand, but it either stayed behind or not. Chistyakov did not award a penalty, but the VAR intervened and corrected the error. At such moments, the rating should not be reduced.

Chistyakov’s score is 8.4.

An intense match and its consequences:

“Akron” – “Khimki” – 3:0

In the 25th minute, Tsyganok missed a penalty against Akron. The moment is difficult and close for him. The view was blocked by three players at once, and two more were fighting. The Akron football player had his arm outstretched to the side. That’s it, it’s enough. And it doesn’t matter if the distance is short or not. This is a VAR intervention and a penalty should have been called. And yet, the episode is difficult and the position did not allow us to make the right decision, so the rating does not go down.

In the 63rd minute, Tsyganok, having applied the advantage principle, did not show a yellow card to the Akron player for rough play.

Gypsy’s score is 8.3.

Dinamo Makhachkala – Spartak – 1:1

A very difficult match for Kukuyan. It is clear that he was worried: at first he let him fight, then he started calming him down and giving him yellow cards. Dynamo’s sending off in the 89th minute is not a key episode. And yet Kukuyan realized it himself and showed a red card for depriving him of a clear chance to score a goal – well done. But in the 54th minute he did not show the Dynamo player a yellow card for rough play.

Kukuyan’s score is 8.4.

Makhachkala is the most uncomfortable opponent for Spartak:

Spartak stole the victory. Everything was ruined by Litvinov’s ridiculous own goal
