Arslan Bagaev will find it extremely difficult to defend his title. And the main reason for this is Arthur Nayfonov. Last season did not go well for the Tokyo 2020 bronze medalist. First there was a hip injury that did not allow me to perform in Krasnoyarsk. And then – a modest bronze medal at the national championship and the subsequent loss of the World Cup in Belgrade.
What is Naifonov’s current status? The fighter himself says that the difficulties are behind him and that the main goal is to participate in the Paris Olympics.
