IIHF said when they will make a decision on Fedotov’s case
IIHF President Luc Tardif spoke about the timing of the decision on CSKA goalkeeper Ivan Fedotov’s contract.
“When will a decision be made on the situation with Fedotov? The discussion is still ongoing. Nothing will happen before next week,” Tardif said in an interview with Championship correspondent Maria Kutsubeeva.
Recall that on July 31, information appeared that the NHL wants to extend Fedotov’s contract with Philadelphia due to unforeseen circumstances. In June, the news broke that the goalkeeper’s contract with the Philadelphia Flyers, concluded before the 2022/2023 season, was automatically extended for one year. However, in July, CSKA announced the signing of a contract with Fedotov. The Russian Hockey Federation reported that it would make a decision on Fedotov’s admission to play in the KHL championship only after consulting with the IIHF.
CSKA ruled out Fedotov’s departure to the NHL
CSKA President Igor Esmantovich said that goalkeeper Ivan Fedotov will not leave for the NHL before the start of the new season. The goalkeeper signed a contract with the army club, although the International Ice Hockey Federation questioned his legitimacy.
“Is there a possibility that Ivan Fedotov will go to the NHL? No, it’s out of the question, our lawyers are working. There will come a time when the International Ice Hockey Federation realizes that the contract with Philadelphia has no legal force,” TASS quoted Esmantovich as saying.
Fedotov, in turn, also spoke about the situation and the buzz around his contract.
“How do you manage to abstract yourself from the publicity about the contract? I just go out on the ice, mind my own business, spend more time on the arena, don’t go online, don’t read unnecessary information. It’s not my concern, my job is to be okay. Everyone does their own thing, the agent has his own activities, I have mine, ”TASS quotes Fedotov.

SKA lost to Admiral at Sochi Hockey Open, leading 2:0 during the meeting
The first match of the Sochi Hockey Open tournament, in which SKA played with Admiral, ended in Sochi. The Far East won with a score of 3:2 in extra time.
17-year-old SKA striker Ivan Demidov opened the scoring. He was assisted by Matvey Michkov and Emil Galimov. Michkov himself scored the second goal of the transfer of Nikolai Polyakov. American striker Barber moved to Barys
