The Russian team was scandalously kicked off a plane in Europe. The passengers were delighted

An important part of the life of international athletes is spent flying. Unfortunately, the airport is not always a welcoming place. Even national teams going to the World Cup are not immune to excesses. The Russian fighting team had to endure one of these unpleasant situations.

First in medals

The 2021 World Wrestling Championships turned out to be a great success for the Russians as a whole. Our athletes, who arrived in Oslo under a neutral flag, won 18 medals, which was the best result among all teams. At the same time, the number of gold pieces, alas, could not please: there were only four. Because of this, Russia at the end of the competition came in fourth place, losing the podium to Iran, the United States and Japan.

First of all, our freestyle wrestlers stood out, taking three golds, silver and four bronzes. Our athletes such as Abdulrashid Sadulayev, Zagir Shakhiev and Abasgadzhi Magomedov shone in the tournament and managed to win in their categories.

In Greco-Roman wrestling we only got one gold: thanks to Roman Vlasov. However, for our classics the World Championship was an incredible success: in eight out of ten weight categories, the Russians finished in prizes. This was the best result in the last 30 years.

The grave of the missing Russian boxer has been found in the United States. The bandit revealed the secret of his death.

Women competed only in wrestling. Here the Russian team did not have much success. Only Nadezhda Sokolova took bronze in the up to 50 kg category.

40 people with guns

The tournament was a success, but just before that the Russian team had to go through a very unpleasant situation at the airport. Our team flew to Oslo in transit through Amsterdam and it was in the capital of the Netherlands that a scandalous incident occurred.

The team was about to fly to the capital of Norway, when news suddenly came that the entire team was removed from the flight. The media cited violation of anti-Covid regulations as the reason. However, team representatives denied this information.

“At first I didn’t even understand what it was: half the plane was without masks, we were wearing masks. One of them slipped and this served as the basis for them to take us off the flight. They came right up to us and started taking the guys out of the plane: I won’t sit still, I can’t leave my team. If they eliminated one, they still went out for him,” the then national team coach, Dzambolat Tedeev, told TASS.

The specialist stressed that he sees a provocation in the incident. According to Tedeev, everyone on the plane was happy when the Russians were escorted back to the airport and a group of armed men were waiting for the athletes outside.

“We left the plane to the words of approval from the passengers addressed to the stewards and special services: “they took us off, well done.” Where does this hate come from? And when we got off the plane, there were already 40 people standing with guns and stun guns. But we left calmly, we did not try to fight with anyone, and where did 40 people come from with weapons in their hands, if it was not a provoked action? – Tedeev told TASS.

The Russian Wrestling Federation (FSBR) immediately took control of the incident. The head of the organization, Mikheil Mamiashvili, said that the next morning the team would fly to Oslo. And so it happened: a mysterious provocation did not prevent our guys from coming to the capital of Norway and showing a great overall result.
