Disney has disappointed Star Wars fans far too often. We all still cringe with nerves, remembering the end of the new trilogy and Obi-Wan. However, they still hoped in Ahsoka: a great heroine, an incredible villain, a nice image. What would happen if something worthy was built on this foundation?
The first two episodes of Ahsoka aired today. There aren’t enough of them to render a final verdict, but so far the novelty seems to be the same Star Wars series we’ve been waiting for so long.
Ahsoka: where to look?
The series is shown on Disney +, there is no Russian dubbing and subtitles. New episodes will air on Wednesdays at 4:00 am PT.

History can change the world of Star Wars
Ahsoka continues the story of Star Wars Rebels. Later, Ahsoka Tano and his team fought Imperial Grand Admiral Thrawn and won thanks to his courage and sacrifice. In the end, the young Jedi Ezra Bridger sacrificed himself and disappeared along with the villain. At first, the characters were considered dead, but now it turned out that this is not the case.
In the series, Ahsoka searches for a map indicating the whereabouts of the missing. The problem is that the villains also need Thrawn: he is the last hope for the rebirth of the Empire. Therefore, wherever Tano goes, he will meet the witch Morgan, the former Jedi Balan, and his student Shin Hati.
The villains confirm their lethality from the first episode. They massacre the crew of the Republic ship and dominate the fight with the heroes. It would seem that Thrawn is still far away, but Ahsoka and his friends are already scared.
Played by Rosario Dawson, the heroine is beautiful.

So far, the plot is extremely simple: the heroes are looking for an artifact, picking up the key and conducting an investigation. That’s only thanks to the bright characters, following what is happening is still interesting.
What is worth it is Ahsoka herself, who carries herself with great grace: her gaze, her movements, and every movement of her lightsaber are mesmerizing. The feeling that a lady can be framed and asked to walk aimlessly across the room, and everyone will look at you breathlessly. Painfully well, Rosario Dawson tackles the role.
At the same time, Ahsoka isn’t considered the perfect Jedi. She sometimes demands too much from the team, she doesn’t always trust her friends and she loses her temper when something doesn’t go as planned. All this makes the heroine extremely cool!

Other characters are not far behind. For example, Sabine Wren takes a couple of minutes to show a strong character and surprise the viewer with her problems. She is wayward, daring and adamant, but at the same time, the lady is tormented by inner pain.
And let’s not forget the hilarious robot Yuyang and Hera Sundulla, who, thanks to Mary Elizabeth Winstead’s performance, seems like the perfect leader. These guys are yet to be revealed, but you’re waiting for their prime.

It is curious that in the first episodes there is not much action and Force. At the same time, Ahsoka still perfectly conveys the very atmosphere of Star Wars with its incredible creatures, wonderful planets and the eternal confrontation between good and evil.
When it comes to a fight, you feel delighted. Of course, the production cannot be called outstanding and there could have been fewer cuts, but all the most important things are in place. The villains hustle, Ahsoka impresses with preparation, the lightsabers cut through everything beautifully.
The show is a bit long and complicated.
There are downsides to Ahsoka, too, and the main one is drag. Unfortunately, the authors want to immerse the viewer in the right atmosphere, so the characters do everything too slowly. They remain for a long time facing each other and look into each other’s eyes, they look at the artifacts for several minutes and explore the place, they go round and round in dialogues.
At the same time, screenwriters often diligently sidestep the issue. Take at least the altercation where Ahsoka and Sabine patch things up. Rebels fans know what went down between the characters, but newcomers will shrug it off. It’s understandable that the Jedi and the former Padawan have a strained relationship.
Viewers who missed the animated series will usually have a lot of questions. Who is Ezra and where did he go? Why is Thrawn so feared and what happened to him? For what heroism is Sabine Wren so highly regarded? The authors have yet to give details.

Ahsoka: is it worth watching?
If you love Star Wars, don’t miss Ahsoka. This looks like the best Force and lightsaber project in years. Fans who watched The Rebels will especially like the novelty, but other viewers will also be satisfied.
