For mid-season collections, London seems to be the ideal place. And Daniel Lee, who has repeatedly declared his love for Foggy Albion, did not ignore this fact.
And while its lookbook clearly charts the designer’s previous workplace (there may be an argument over a recognizable handwriting), the Burberry 2025 cruise collection certainly has everything we love about the British fashion house.
Here are crisp two-piece suits in beige, which Lee recommends wearing with futuristic glasses and contrasting scarves; leather jackets in caramel color and high collars; the ubiquitous cargo, work jackets with elegant duck print and corduroy collars, plaids and pea coats (where would we be without them), and also brooches, clearly reminiscent of the bows that decorate gift boxes; spacious leather bags and fur coats. The latter also included fringe: Bottega Veneta fans from Lee’s era will probably remember this trick.
The designer himself, commenting on the collection to his Vogue colleagues, noted that it demonstrates a modern take on British traditions, and is also sure that this is the kind of clothing (in particular, perfectly tailored men’s jackets) that he would wear. King Charles
