Kutxbank has improved the remuneration on its Linking deposit to 3%, a product that was already in its catalog and that now the bank rewards to a greater extent and this depending on the different products contracted by the client, as confirmed by the jero council delegate of the entity, Eduardo Ruiz de Gordejuela. Ruiz de Gordejuela has participated in “Los Viernes de la Cámara” in Cámarabilbao where he gave a presentation titled ‘Growing, Kutxabank’s strategic challenge’.
Within the framework of his intervention and, after being questioned about the deposit remuneration policy, he specified, first of all, that there is a tendency to limit savings to the deposit, when “savings are something more than the deposit, more global “. “. In this sense, he added that Kutxabank is seeking to give back and remunerate the client’s savings since always and through diversification.
After carrying out this reflection, he announced that in his Vinculación deposit, a “historical” product in the Kutxabank catalogue, the remuneration has been improved up to 3% depending on the different products that the client has. It is a 13-month deposit with a maximum capital of 100,000 in which the remuneration will be improved depending on the links that exist.
On the other hand, in relation to the rise in interest rates and the fact that, in principle, new increases are not going to be proposed, Ruiz de Gordejuela has indicated that for his sector it is “bad news” that the economy is cool and that “credit will contract” and, therefore, it seems like positive news to them” that interest rates “have reached their ceiling and, from there, reductions are already discounted.” “Moderately positive rates are the most healthy for the financial sector and also for the economy,” he added.
The head of Kutxabank has indicated that, until now, there have been no “upsets” in defaults as a result of the rise in interest rates, but they do note a certain contraction in credit activity and also an “inhibition” of new projects. . businessmen.
