On New Year’s Eve, the entrance to Red Square in Moscow will be limited: it will be closed on December 31 from 18:00. This was reported by TASS with reference to the press service of the Moscow Regional Security and Anti-Corruption Department.
The decision was made “in connection with the coronavirus pandemic and the maximum alert regime in the city” to “implement preventive measures” and exclude significant crowds. All events related to the celebration of the New Year and the Nativity of Christ have been cancelled.
It is specified that the GUM Skating Rink, which is located on Red Square, will work on December 31 until 7:00 p.m.
