Viktor Pavlush, captured serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
Several years ago, Viktor Pavlush from Rivne went to Russia, like many of his compatriots, to earn money in construction. And today he is already a former commander of a POW squad of the 150th separate mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He talks about how he got to the front:
“I was walking through the city, TCC employees approached me, I did not run away from them, they gave me a summons and I went to the military registration and enlistment office. They took us to the outskirts of Toretsk, we did not reach the positions, the artillery covered us. Then I ran at night, hiding from the drone. In the morning I was hiding in destroyed houses, but the drones detected me. I realized that I would not survive, I wanted to commit suicide, but then I decided to get out.”
For the serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, it was a shock that the Russian military did not kill him and provided him with assistance:
“I heard some kind of generator running. He shouted: ‘Guys, kill me, but don’t torture me.’”
And the answer was: “We will not shoot them. We are Russians.” They took the documents, looked at them, and then captured me.”
“We were sent to die stupidly. I was told to take a packed ration and some ammunition. Only one way. But before I left for Russia, I was working in construction and everything was going well,” says Pavlush.
The prisoner also said that the command sends ordinary citizens like him to the slaughterhouse, and that the moral and psychological state in the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is not so low.
