Even if the Spaniards beat the Germans, they will face either Portugal or France in the semi-finals. Neither of these two is a given, despite the shortcomings that have emerged during the tournament. It also works the other way around. So the choice is between England and the Netherlands. And here, too, the logic is simple.
Luck must stop smiling on the English at some point. Either now or in the semi-finals. With such an aristocratic game, to put it mildly, reaching the quarter-finals was already a success. The Swiss, of course, do not seem the most formidable opponent, but they are quite capable of causing another sensation after their victory over Italy.
The situation is much simpler for the Dutch. The Turkish national team suffered a 0:3 defeat to Portugal in the group stage and is not the main contender even for the final. The Turks are unlikely to be too upset if they are eliminated in the quarter-finals, because they have already performed well. In addition, in the last direct encounter they were defeated by the “oranges” 1:6 and are clearly inferior in class.
At the same time, the Dutch national team historically plays well against the English national team. In the last nine matches, they have lost only once and won four times. And this is a strong bet for reaching the final, for which bookmakers, by the way, give odds of 2.85. If you don’t want to take any risks, you can at least think about this option, which is quite likely.
